At the core of our approach is a commitment to providing outstanding, patient-centered nursing care based on literature-based best practices. We focus on offering the best possible care to medically fragile infants, babies, toddlers, and children.
Our goal is to exceed established standards for weaning, decannulating, and discharging trached and mechanically ventilated pediatric patients. Our highly educated nurses consistently achieve this goal in a scientifically sound manner, often exceeding expectations by safely completing these processes in just 7-24 months.
We meticulously approach patient care, assessing each individual’s condition, health, and functional status. Our nurses work closely with the healthcare team to develop a customized care plan with specific goals and timelines. Progress is regularly evaluated, and adjustments are made to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Meet Our Founder, Catherine D’Ambrosio, Ph.D., BSN, MSN, RN
With over 33 years of nursing experience, Catherine is committed to providing the highest quality care to every patient. She has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in bedside nursing and optimizing health outcomes.
After earning her RN degree from Barnes Hospital School of Nursing in 1983, Catherine completed her BSN at the University of Missouri, Saint Louis, and her MSN in Gero-Psychiatric Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1995, she founded her first licensed home health care agency, focusing on medically-intensive care for children in their homes.
Catherine then pursued her Ph.D., writing a dissertation on “Computational Representation of Bedside Nurses’ Decision-Making Processes.” Her research aimed to use AI to improve the accuracy of novice and situational nurses’ decision-making. After a post-doctoral fellowship in Gerontological Nursing, Catherine worked as an analyst and consultant before returning to the University of Washington as a Clinical Assistant Professor.
As a dedicated educator, Catherine was Chair of the Shoreline Community College Board of Trustees from 2015-16. She is committed to improving the lives of Washingtonians by helping them acquire the skills and knowledge needed for skilled, high-paying jobs.

In 2014, Catherine returned to pediatric critical care. She started her second home health care agency, dedicated to providing the best care for Washington’s medically fragile children. Our nurses are known for their exceptional care, often enabling patients to wean, decannulate, and discharge months or even years ahead of schedule.
Our priority for all our patients is to minimize infection risk and reduce the use of emergency services, hospitalization, and length of stay. We strive to provide the best possible care and optimize health outcomes for every patient.”

Our focus is on:
- MINIMIZING INFECTION RISK: We work to reduce the risk of infection, quickly identify and treat any infections that occur, and closely monitor their response to treatment.
- REDUCING EMERGENCY SERVICES USE: We strive to reduce the need for emergency services and hospitalization and minimize the length of stay if hospitalization is necessary.
